     He was Professor of law at University of Hagen, Hagen, Westfalen, Germany.²

     João de Bragança, Infante de Portugal e Brazil was born on 6 March 1821 at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil^G.¹ He was the son of Dom Pedro IV de Bragança, Rei de Portugal and Maria Leopoldine Erzherzogin von Österreich.¹ He died on 4 February 1822 at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil^G.¹
     He gained the title of Infante de Brazil. He was given the name of João Carlos Pedro Leopoldo at birth.¹ He gained the title of Infante de Portugal. He gained the title of Principe João de Beira between 1821 and 1822.¹
