     Magdalen Newport was born circa 1568.¹ She was the daughter of Sir Richard Newport and Margaret Bromley.¹ She married, firstly, Richard Herbert, son of Sir Edward Herbert and Elizabeth Price.¹ She married, secondly, Sir John Danvers, son of Sir John Danvers and Elizabeth Neville, in 1608.¹ She died in June 1627.¹
     Her married name became Herbert.¹ She was a close friend of John Donne, the poet.¹ From 1608, her married name became Danvers.¹

     Sir John Danvers was born circa 1588.² He was the son of Sir John Danvers and Elizabeth Neville.¹ He married, firstly, Magdalen Newport, daughter of Sir Richard Newport and Margaret Bromley, in 1608.¹ He married, secondly, Elizabeth Dauntsey, daughter of Ambrose Dauntsey and Gertrude Sadler, on 10 July 1628.² He married Grace Hewett on 6 January 1648/49.² He died in April 1655 at Chelsea, London, England.²
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Oxford University in 1640.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Malmesbury in 1645.²
