Violet Dorothy Evelyn Done usually went by her middle name of Dorothy.2 From 2 June 1919, her married name became Bruce.1 She was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1920.2 After her marriage, Violet Dorothy Evelyn Done was styled as Baroness Balfour of Burleigh on 6 July 1921. She was a pioneer of anaesthetised childbirth.2
