He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)2 He was educated at Clifton College, Clifton, Bristol, England.2 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1925 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)2 He was registered as a Member, Institution of Mechanical Engineers (M.I.Mech.E.)2 He was registered as a Chartered Engineer (C.Eng.)2 He fought in the Second World War.2 He gained the rank of officer in the Bomb Disposal Company, Royal Engineers.2 He was Area Manager, National Coal Board between January 1947 and March 1967.2 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1967.1 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Fry, of Woodburn, Blackwell, co. Durham [U.K., 1894] on 14 January 1985. On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.3
