Ellen Charlotte Hornby was born in 1852 at Conisbrough, Yorkshire, England.1 She was the daughter of Charles Hornby.1 She married, firstly, Robert Andrew Woolley, son of Robert Woolley and Isabella Jane Agnes (?), on 7 May 1870 at South Africa.1 She married, secondly, Major Edmund Walcott Newland, son of Captain Charles Frankland Newland and Anne Elizabeth Wood Walcott, in 1900 at St. Paul’s Church, Onslow Square, Kensington, London, England.1 She died in 1918 at Staines, London, England.1
From 7 May 1870, her married name became Woolley.1 From 1900, her married name became Newland.1
