     Henry Frederick Chapman was born on 25 August 1797 at Wanstead, Essex, England.1 He was the son of Abel Chapman and Rebecca Bell.1 He married Priscilla Susannah Wakefield, daughter of Edward Wakefield and Susanna Crash, on 23 November 1836.1 He died on 15 March 1854 at age 56.1
     He gained the rank of officer in the Bengal Army.1
