     Emily Mary Morgan Desborough was born in 1871 at Woolwich, Kent, EnglandG.3 She was the daughter of Major-Gen. John Desborough and Eliza Mary Maitland.3 She married Admiral Sir Morgan Singer, son of Vice-Admiral Morgan Singer and Frances Crofton Burn, in 1899.1 She died on 23 July 1952.2
     From 1899, her married name became Singer.1

     Ethel Pagden was baptised on 26 August 1860 at Ashton-on-Mersey, Cheshire, England.1 She was the daughter of Elgar Pagden and Margaret Bellhouse.1 She married Brig.-Gen. John James Francis Hume, son of Maj.-Gen. John James Hume and Mary Hansbrow, in 1882.1 She died on 14 February 1941 at age 80.1
     From 1882, her married name became Hume.1

     Lt.-Col. John Elgar Hume was born in 1886 at Ashton-on-Mersey, Cheshire, England.1 He was the son of Brig.-Gen. John James Francis Hume and Ethel Pagden.1 He married, firstly, Margaret Emmeline Clarke in 1908 at Weymouth, Dorset, England.1 He married, secondly, Phyllis Maude Coleman Evennette, daughter of Charles Thomas Evennette, on 3 October 1928 at Simla, Bengal, India.1 He died in 1962 at Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England.1
     He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches three times.2 He was awarded the Legion d’Honneur in 1917.3 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Loyal Regiment.2 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)2
