Captain Hugh Talbot Burgoyne, V.C. was the son of Field Marshal Sir John Fox Burgoyne, 1st Bt.3 He married Evelyn Laura Wake-Walker, daughter of Admiral Sir Baldwin Wake-Walker, 1st Bt. and Mary Catherine Sinclair Worth, on 25 August 1864.1 He died on 7 September 1870, lost in H.M.S. Captain.1
He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.1 He was awarded the Victoria Cross (V.C.)1
