     He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He was admitted to Inner Temple entitled to practise as a barrister.¹

     Lilias Elizabeth Strover was born in 1837 at Balham, Surrey, England.¹ She was the daughter of General Samuel Rogers Strover and Harriet Strover.¹

     Colonel Sir Charles Edward Mansfield was born on 11 October 1828.¹ He was the son of John Edward Mansfield and Mary Buchanan Smith.² He married Annie Eliza Margaret Ellis, daughter of Lt.-Col. Hon. Augustus Frederick Ellis and Mary Frances Thurlow Cunynghame, on 13 June 1859.¹ He died on 1 August 1907 at age 78.¹
     He fought in the Crimean War.¹ He fought in the Indian Mutiny.¹ He gained the rank of Colonel in 1865 in the 33rd Regiment.¹ He was Consul-General to Warsaw in 1865.¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.)¹ He was Consul-General to Bucharest in 1876.¹ He was Consul-General to Bogota in 1878.¹ He was Minister Resident to Caracas in 1883.¹ He was Minister Resident to Lima in 1884.¹

     Charlotte Henrietta Mansfield was born on 28 May 1819 at London, England.² She was the daughter of John Edward Mansfield and Mary Buchanan Smith.³ She married Vincent Gildemeester Baron van Tuyll van Serooskerken, son of Karel Lodewijk Baron van Tuyll van Serooskerken Heer van Ijzendoorn and Maria Louise Gildemeester, on 8 August 1844 at London, England.^1,2 She died on 9 February 1869 at age 49 at The Hague, The Netherlands.^1,2
