Charles Rose Ellis, 1st Baron Seaford of Seaford1 
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Heytesbury between 1793 and 1796.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Seaford between 1796 and 1806.2 He purchased the Claremont estate, Esher, Surrey circa 1798.2 As the leader of the West Indies planters in Parliament, he had great influence though an indifferent orator.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for East Grinstead between 1807 and 1812.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Seaford between 1812 and 1826.2 He was created 1st Baron Seaford of Seaford, co. Sussex [U.K.] on 15 July 1826.1 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.4

Captain John Augustus Hervey, Lord Hervey was born on 1 January 1757.1 He was the son of Rt. Rev. Frederick Augustus Hervey, 4th Earl of Bristol and Elizabeth Davers.1 He was baptised on 29 January 1757 at Horningsheath, Suffolk, EnglandG.1 He married Elizabeth Drummond, daughter of Colin Drummond and Katherine Oliphant, on 4 October 1779 at Quebec, CanadaG.1 He died on 10 January 1796 at age 39, without male issue.1 He was buried on 26 September 1796 at Ickworth, Suffolk, EnglandG.1
He was styled as Lord Hervey between 1779 and 1796.1 He gained the rank of Captain in 1780 in the Royal Navy.1 He held the office of Ambassador to Florence between 1787 and 1794.1
