     Hugh Ross, 1st of Balnagowan was the son of Aodh de Ross, 4th Earl of Ross and Margaret Graham.2 He married Margaret de Barclay.1 He died before 10 August 1374.1
     On 10 May 1333 he had charter of Rarichies.1

     Alexander Ross, 6th of Balnagowan was the son of John Ross, 5th of Balnagowan and Margaret MacLeod.2,3 He married Dorothy Sutherland, daughter of Alexander Sutherland of Duffus and Muriel Chisholm.1 He died on 11 June 1486 at Allt Charrais, Scotland, killed in action with many of his clan with the Sutherlands and Mackays.1
