     From 19 December 1922, her married name became Thorpe. She held the office of Member of the Surrey County Council between 1949 and 1961.¹ She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Surrey in 1955.¹

     Venerable John Henry Thorpe was born in 1855 at Liverpool, Lancashire, England.² He married, firstly, Martha Aylmer Hall, daughter of Robert Constable Hall and Geraldine Maria Aylmer, circa 1885.² He died on 7 January 1932 at Chester, Cheshire, England.²
     He graduated with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He graduated with a Bachelor of Divinity (B.D.)¹ He was Vicar at St. George’s, Stockport, Cheshire, England.³ He held the office of Archdeacon of Macclesfield between 1921 and 1932.^1,2

     John Henry Thorpe was born on 7 August 1887 at Cork, County Cork, Ireland.² He was the son of Venerable John Henry Thorpe and Martha Aylmer Hall.³ He married Ursula Norton-Griffiths, daughter of Sir John Norton-Griffiths, 1st Bt. and Gwladys Wood, on 19 December 1922.¹ He died on 31 October 1944 at age 57.²
     He was a practising barrister.¹ He was educated at St. John’s School, Leatherhead, Surrey, England^G.² He was educated at Trinity College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.² He held the office of Recorder of Blackburn.¹ He was appointed King’s Counsel (K.C.)¹ He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Rusholme between 1919 and 1924.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹ He was Deputy Chairmam of Middlesex Quarter Sessions.¹

     Martha Aylmer Hall was born on 11 June 1862 at Cork, County Cork, Ireland.¹ She was the daughter of Robert Constable Hall and Geraldine Maria Aylmer.¹ She married Venerable John Henry Thorpe circa 1885.¹ She died on 8 December 1925 at age 63.¹
     From circa 1885, her married name became Thorpe.¹

     Charles Warwick Allpass was born on 24 November 1905 at Croydon, Surrey, England.² He was the son of Charles James Allpass and Winifred Annie Hobbs.² He married Nancy E. White.² He married Marcelle Doreen Rabone, daughter of Walter H. Rabone, on 12 April 1934.² He died in 2001 at Surrey, England.²
     He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1955.² He lived at Kingswood, Surrey, England.¹

     Caroline Allpass was born in 1938.² She was the daughter of Charles Warwick Allpass.³ She married Rt. Hon. John Jeremy Thorpe, son of John Henry Thorpe and Ursula Norton-Griffiths, in 1968.¹ She died on 29 June 1970 at Basingstoke, Hampshire, England, killed in a car crash.¹
     From 1968, her married name became Thorpe. She was an interior decorator.²
