Sir David Dale, 1st Bt. 
Sir David Dale, 1st Bt. was born on 11 December 1829 at Moorshedabad, Bengal, India.1 He was the son of David Dale and Ann Elizabeth Douglas.1 He married Annie Backhouse Robson, daughter of Edward Robson, on 27 January 1853.1 He married, secondly, Alice Frederica Milbank, daughter of Sir Frederick Acclom Milbank, 1st Bt. and Alexina Harriet Elizabeth Don, on 2 August 1888. He died on 28 April 1906 at age 76 at York, Yorkshire, England.1
He was educated at Stockton Grammar School, Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham, EnglandG.1 He was director of the North Eastern Railway Company in 1881.1 He held the office of High Sheriff for Durham in 1888.1 He was created 1st Baronet Dale, of West Lodge, in the parish of Holy Trinity, Darlington, co. Durham [U.K.] in 1895. He was director of the Dunderland Iron Ore Company in 1902.1
