     George Digby Wingfield Digby was born on 1 June 1797.1 He was the son of William Wingfield-Baker and Lady Charlotte Maria Digby.1 He married Lucy Mabella Portman, daughter of Edward Berkeley Portman and Lucy Whitby, on 26 May 1824.2 He died on 7 May 1883 at age 85, without issue.1
     He lived at Sherborne Castle, Dorset, England.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)2 He was given the name of George Digby Wingfield at birth.1 In 1856 his name was legally changed to George Digby Wingfield Digby.1
