Sir James Michael Goldsmith was born on 26 February 1933 at Paris, FranceG.3 He was the son of Francis Benedict Hayam Goldsmith and Marcelle Mouiller.3,4 He married, firstly, Maria Isabel Albina Patiño y de Borbón, daughter of Don Antenor Patiño y Rodrigues and Maria Cristina de Borbón y de Bosch-Labras, Duquesa de Durcal, in January 1954 at ScotlandG.5 He married, secondly, Ginette Christiane Léry on 16 January 1963 at Paris, FranceG.4 He and Ginette Christiane Léry were divorced on 20 September 1978.4 He married, thirdly, Lady Annabel Vane-Tempest-Stewart, daughter of Edward Charles Robert Vane-Tempest-Stewart, 8th Marquess of Londonderry and Romaine Combe, on 16 November 1978 at Paris, FranceG.1,4 He died on 19 July 1997 at age 64, from cancer.6
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.3 He was an industrial tycoon.3 He was founder of the Referendum Party.3 He was appointed Knight in May 1976.7 He held the office of Member of the European Parliament (M.E.P.)1
