Sir Archibald Murray of Blackbarony, 3rd Bt. was the son of Sir Alexander Murray of Blackbarony, 2nd Bt. and Margaret Cockburn.2 He married Lady Mary Keith, daughter of William Keith, 6th Earl Marischal and Lady Elizabeth Seton.2 He died circa 1700.3
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) of the Sheriffdom of Selkirk and Peebles in 1659.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Peebles-shire between 1661 and 1663.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Peebles-shire in 1667.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Murray, of Blackbarony, co. Sir Alexander Murray of Blackbarony, 4th Bt. was the son of Sir Archibald Murray of Blackbarony, 3rd Bt. and Lady Mary Keith.2 He married Margaret Wallace, daughter of William Wallace of Helington, on 28 July 1687.1 He died on 31 December 1741, without issue.1
