     Matthew William Muir was born on 18 September 1878.¹ He was the son of Sir John Muir of Deanston, 1st Bt. and Margaret Morrison Kay.² He married Clara Gardiner Muir, daughter of John Gardiner Muir, on 12 October 1912.¹ He died on 9 February 1922 at age 43, following a hunting accident.¹

     Clara Gardiner Muir was the daughter of John Gardiner Muir.² She married, firstly, Matthew William Muir, son of Sir John Muir of Deanston, 1st Bt. and Margaret Morrison Kay, on 12 October 1912.¹ She married, secondly, Major David Johnstone Mitchell, son of Arthur Charles Mitchell and Constance Lucy Elwes, on 14 April 1925.² She died on 25 June 1952.²
     Her married name became Mitchell.

     Ian Kay Muir was born on 23 June 1916.¹ He was the son of Matthew William Muir and Clara Gardiner Muir.² He died on 27 May 1940 at age 23 at France, killed in action.²
     He fought in the Second World War.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 10th Hussars.¹

     Gillian Rachel Muir was born on 23 September 1914.¹ She is the daughter of Matthew William Muir and Clara Gardiner Muir.² She married Evan Morgan Williams, son of Frederick Williams, on 16 July 1940.¹
     From 16 July 1940, her married name became Williams. She lived in 2003 at Ballyvolane Stud, Bruff, County Limerick, Ireland^G.¹

     Frederick Williams lived at Bear Hotel, Cowbridge, Glamorgan, Wales.¹

     Evan Morgan Williams is the son of Frederick Williams.² He married Gillian Rachel Muir, daughter of Matthew William Muir and Clara Gardiner Muir, on 16 July 1940.¹

     Ian Muir Williams was born on 20 June 1942.¹ He was the son of Evan Morgan Williams and Gillian Rachel Muir.² He died on 27 July 2019 at age 77 at Panama.³
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.¹ He lived in 2003 at Ballykisteen Stud, Tipperary, County Tipperary, Ireland^G.¹

     Hugh Frederick Williams was born on 10 July 1943.¹ He is the son of Evan Morgan Williams and Gillian Rachel Muir.²
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.¹

     Francis Basset was born on 10 February 1674 at Illogan, Cornwall, England.¹ He was the son of Francis Basset and Lucy Hele.¹ He married Mary Pendarves circa 1711.¹ He died on 11 December 1721 at age 47.¹
