     Sir William Lockhart of Carstairs is the son of Sir James Lockhart, 9th of the Lee and Jean Auchinleck.2 He married Hon. Mary Carmichael, daughter of Sir James Carmichael, 1st Lord Carmichael and Agnes Wilkie, on 2 September 1647.1
     He was ancestor of the Lockharts of Carstairs, Lanarks.2 He had the Barony of Carstairs from his father.2
