Sir Thomas Selby Lawson-Tancred, 9th Bt.1 
He was given the name of Thomas Selby Tancred at birth.1 He fought in the Miranzai Expedition in 1891.1 He succeeded as the 9th Baronet Tancred, of Boroughbridge, co. York [E., 1662] on 11 April 1910.1 He gained the rank of Major in the Central India Horse, Indian Army.1 He fought in the First World War.1 In November 1914 his name was legally changed to Thomas Selby Lawson-Tancred by Deed Poll.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for the West Riding, Yorkshire.1
