     John Browne held the office of Surgeon-General [Bengal].¹

     Charlotte Isabella Browne was born on 15 February 1810 at Calcutta, India.² She was the daughter of John Browne.³ She was baptised on 23 October 1810 at Calcutta, India.² She married Lt.-Gen. Sir George St. Patrick Lawrence, son of Lt.-Col. Alexander William Lawrence and Catherine Letitia Knox, on 3 April 1830 at Kurnaul, Bengal, India.² She died on 12 May 1878 at age 68.¹
     From 3 April 1830, her married name became Lawrence.²

     Lt.-Gen. Sir Henry Montgomery Lawrence was born on 28 June 1806 at Sri Lanka.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Col. Alexander William Lawrence and Catherine Letitia Knox.² He married Honoria Marshall, daughter of Reverend George Marshall, on 21 August 1837.¹ He died on 4 July 1857 at age 51 at the Residency, Lucknow, India, from wounds from a shell two days earlier.¹ He was buried at St. Martin Churchyard, Northstoke, Somerset, England.³
     He was commissioned in 1821 with the rank of officer, in the service of the Bengal Artillery.¹ He fought in the Burma Campaign.¹ He was British Resident of Nepal in 1843.¹ He fought in the Kabul Campaign.¹ He fought in the Sutlej Campaign.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1846.¹ He was British Resident of Lahore in 1846.¹ He wrote the book The Adventures of an Officer in Runjeet Singh’s Service.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1846.¹ He was Governor-General’s Agent to the North-West Frontier.¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) in 1848.¹ He was Chief Commissioner of Government of Punjab in 1849, on its annexation.¹ He was Governor-General’s Agent of Rajputana in 1853.¹ He fought in the Indian Mutiny in 1857, where he organised the defence of Lucknow.¹ He was Chief Commissioner of Oudh in 1857.¹

     Marie Anne Sophie Houssemayne Du Boulay was born in 1761. She is the daughter of Benjamin François Houssemayne Du Boulay and Louise Lamotte. She married James Cazenove.¹ She died in 1849.
     Her married name became Cazenove.¹

     General Richard Charles Lawrence was born on 26 October 1817 at Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England.^1,2 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Alexander William Lawrence and Catherine Letitia Knox.³ He married Ellen Youngson, daughter of Colonel William Youngson, on 30 March 1839.¹ He died on 23 January 1896 at age 78 at Biarritz, France.^1,2 He was buried at St. Martin Churchyard, Northstoke, Somerset, England.²
     He gained the rank of General in the Bombay Staff Corps.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)¹ He fought in the First Sikh War.² He fought in the Indian Mutiny.²

     Colonel William Youngson lived at Bowscar, Cumberland, England.¹ He was with the East India Company, Madras Establishment.¹

     Ellen Youngson was the daughter of Colonel William Youngson.² She married General Richard Charles Lawrence, son of Lt.-Col. Alexander William Lawrence and Catherine Letitia Knox, on 30 March 1839.¹ She died on 23 January 1900.¹
     From 30 March 1839, her married name became Lawrence.

     Letitia Catherine Lawrence was born on 6 January 1802 at Sri Lanka.² She was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Alexander William Lawrence and Catherine Letitia Knox.³ She married Reverend Henry Horace Hayes in 1837.¹ She died on 6 November 1865 at age 63 at Barnstaple, Devon, England.^1,2 She was buried at St. Martin Churchyard, Northstoke, Somerset, England.²
     From 1837, her married name became Hayes.

     Reverend Henry Horace Hayes married Letitia Catherine Lawrence, daughter of Lt.-Col. Alexander William Lawrence and Catherine Letitia Knox, in 1837.¹ He died in 1853.¹
     He was Vicar at North Stoke, Somerset, England.¹
