(Conservative) for County Cavan.1 He succeeded as the 9th Baron Farnham, of Farnham, co. Cavan [I., 1756] on 4 June 1884.1 He succeeded as the 11th Baronet Maxwell, of Calderwood [N.S., 1627] on 4 December 1885.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 97th Foot.1
