Sir Nelson Rycroft, 2nd Bt. was born on 15 February 1761.2 He was the son of Rev. Sir Richard Rycroft, 1st Bt. and Penelope Stonehewer.3 He married, firstly, Charlotte Read, daughter of Henry Read and Frances Truman, on 11 July 1791.2 He married, secondly, Margaret Mandeville, daughter of Robert Mandeville, on 3 May 1808.2 He died on 1 October 1827 at age 66.2
He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Rycroft, of Calton, co. York [G.B., 1784] on 5 July 1786.2
