     Edith Maud Berners was born circa 1847 at Gatcombe, Isle of Wight, England^G.¹ She was the daughter of Captain Hugh Berners and Julia Alice Ashton.¹ She married Charles Alfred William Rycroft, son of Sir Richard Henry Charles Rycroft, 3rd Bt. and Charlotte Ann Josephine Tennant, on 19 January 1875 at St. George Hanover Square, London, England^G.¹ She died on 17 November 1912.²
     From 19 January 1875, her married name became Rycroft.

     Sir Richard Henry Charles Rycroft, 3rd Bt. was born on 21 December 1793.² He was the son of Sir Nelson Rycroft, 2nd Bt. and Charlotte Read.³ He married Charlotte Ann Josephine Tennant, daughter of William Tennant and Hon. Maria Charlotte Anderson-Pelham, on 18 May 1830 at Saint Nicholas, Brighton, Sussex, England^G.¹ He died on 21 October 1864 at age 70.²
     He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Rycroft, of Calton, co. York [G.B., 1784] on 1 October 1827.²

     Charlotte Ann Josephine Tennant is the daughter of William Tennant and Hon. Maria Charlotte Anderson-Pelham.¹ She married Sir Richard Henry Charles Rycroft, 3rd Bt., son of Sir Nelson Rycroft, 2nd Bt. and Charlotte Read, on 18 May 1830 at Saint Nicholas, Brighton, Sussex, England^G.¹ She died on 3 October 1874.²
     From 18 May 1830, her married name became Rycroft.

     Charles Alfred William Rycroft was born on 18 September 1838 at Brighton, Sussex, England^G.¹ He was the son of Sir Richard Henry Charles Rycroft, 3rd Bt. and Charlotte Ann Josephine Tennant.¹ He married Edith Maud Berners, daughter of Captain Hugh Berners and Julia Alice Ashton, on 19 January 1875 at St. George Hanover Square, London, England^G.¹ He died on 23 April 1884 at age 45.²
     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) in 1880.³

     Henry Richard Rycroft was born on 7 March 1840.² He is the son of Sir Richard Henry Charles Rycroft, 3rd Bt. and Charlotte Ann Josephine Tennant.¹ He died on 13 September 1854 at age 14.²

     Alfred Richard Hugh Rycroft was born on 21 February 1876 at Belgravia, London, England^G.¹ He was the son of Charles Alfred William Rycroft and Edith Maud Berners.¹ He married Violet Kevill-Davies, daughter of Captain William Trevelyan Somerset Kevill-Davies and Annie Richardson Lily Armstrong, on 18 May 1901.² He died on 5 April 1944 at age 68.²
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Welch Fusiliers.² He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1902.² He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches and was wounded.² He gained the rank of Major in the West Kent Yeomanry, Tank Corps and Remount Service.² He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1918.²

     Charlotte Maud Rycroft was born circa 1878 at Belgravia, London, England^G.² She was the daughter of Charles Alfred William Rycroft and Edith Maud Berners.² She married Fritz Ritter on 9 November 1899.¹ She died on 28 February 1943, leaving issue.¹
     From 9 November 1899, her married name became Ritter.
