(Whig) for Plympton between 1702 and 1734.² He held the office of a Lord of Treasury from 1716 to 1717.² He held the office of a Lord of Treasury between 1720 and 1724.² He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Ireland] in 1727.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Lostwithiel between 1734 and 1741.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Plympton from 1741 to 1742.² He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Cornwall between 1742 and 1758.² He was created 1st Baron Edgcumbe of Mount-Edgcumbe [Great Britain] on 20 April 1742.² He held the office of Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster between 1743 and 1758.² He gained the rank of Major-General in 1755.²

     Matilda Furnese was the daughter of Sir Henry Furnese, 1st Bt.² She married Richard Edgcumbe, 1st Baron Edgcumbe of Mount-Edgcumbe, son of Sir Richard Edgcumbe and Lady Anne Montagu, on 12 March 1715.² She died in 1721.¹
     From 12 March 1715, her married name became Edgcumbe.¹

     Hon. James Richard Martin Hogg was born in 1951.¹ He is the son of Quintin McGarel Hogg, Baron Hailsham of St. Marylebone and Mary Evelyn Martin.¹ He married D. Clare Raffael, daughter of Maurice Raffael, in 1987.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Grenadier Guards.¹

     D. Clare Raffael is the daughter of Maurice Raffael.¹ She married Hon. James Richard Martin Hogg, son of Quintin McGarel Hogg, Baron Hailsham of St. Marylebone and Mary Evelyn Martin, in 1987.¹
     From 1987, her married name became Hogg.¹

     Maurice Raffael lived at Wimbledon, London, England^G.¹

     Dame Mary Claire Hogg was born on 15 January 1947.² She is the daughter of Quintin McGarel Hogg, Baron Hailsham of St. Marylebone and Mary Evelyn Martin.¹ She married Eric Koops, son of Leendart Koops, in 1987.²
     She was educated at St. Paul’s Girls’ School, London, England^G.² She was admitted to Lincoln’s Inn in 1968 entitled to practise as a barrister.² From 1987, her married name became Koops.² She was appointed Queen’s Counsel (Q.C.) in 1989.² She held the office of Recorder between 1990 and 1995.² She held the office of Bencher of Lincoln’s Inn in 1995.² She held the office of High Court Judge, Family Division in 1995.²

     Hon. Frances Evelyn Hogg was born on 11 November 1949.¹ She is the daughter of Quintin McGarel Hogg, Baron Hailsham of St. Marylebone and Mary Evelyn Martin.¹ She married Richard Quintin Hoare, son of Quintin Vincent Hoare, on 19 October 1970.¹
     She was educated at St. Paul’s Girls’ School, London, England^G.¹ She was educated at Homerton Teachers Training College, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G.¹ She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹ From 19 October 1970, her married name became Hoare.¹ She lived in 2003 at Tangier House, Wootton St. Lawrence, Hampshire, England^G.¹ She held the office of High Sheriff of Hampshire between 2003 and 2004.¹

     Richard A. Collins is the son of C. A. Collins.¹ He married Hon. Katharine Amelia Hogg, daughter of Quintin McGarel Hogg, Baron Hailsham of St. Marylebone and Mary Evelyn Martin, in 1993.¹

     C. A. Collins lived at Penarth, Glamorgan, Wales^G.¹
