Hugh Rose, 7th of Kilravock1
On 18 February 1460 he built the Tower of Kilravock under licence feom his feudal superior, John 10th of the Lord of the Isles and Earl of Ross.2 On 2 March 1475 he obtained a charter from King James III whereby Kilravock and Geddes were again held direct from the Crown after the forfeiture of the Lord of the Isles in 1474.2

In the latter year he was welcomed by his cousin William and 1,800 of the Clan Chattan, when he took up his position as Chief.1 He held the position of 13th Chief of the Clan Chattan from in 1496.1 In 1497 he was imprisoned in Edinburgh Castle, Stirling, then Dunbar.1 He also had two natural sons and four daughters.1
