     Major James Alexander Orr Ewing was born on 22 February 1857.¹ He was the son of Sir Archibald Orr Ewing of Ballikinrain, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Lindsay Reid.² He married Lady Margaret Frances Susan Innes-Ker, daughter of James Henry Robert Innes-Ker, 7th Duke of Roxburghe and Lady Anne Emily Spencer-Churchill, on 25 July 1898.¹ He died on 28 May 1900 at age 43 at Kheis, South Africa^G, killed in action.²
     He graduated from Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He was Aide-de-Camp to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland and Commander-in-Chief of Ireland between 1885 and 1890.² He gained the rank of Major in the 16th Lancers.² He gained the rank of Major in the Warwicks Yeomanry Cavalry.¹ He fought in the Boer War.¹

     David de Malpas is the son of David de Malpas and Margaret ap Eynion.¹
     He lived at Golborne, Cheshire, England^G.¹

     Catherine de Hulton married Philip de Malpas, son of David de Malpas and Margaret ap Eynion.¹

     Millicent Lilian Elizabeth Orr Ewing was born on 10 July 1899.¹ She was the daughter of Major James Alexander Orr Ewing and Lady Margaret Frances Susan Innes-Ker.² She married Sir John Francis Roskell Reynolds, 2nd Bt., son of Sir James Philip Reynolds, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Emilia Leila Roskell, on 22 November 1921.¹ She died on 23 November 1931 at age 32.²
     From 22 November 1921, her married name became Reynolds.
