He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He gained the rank of Captain in the 4th Battalion, Devonshire Regiment (TR.)1 He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1906 entitled to practise as a barrister.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Devon in 1913.1 He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Kennaway, of Escot, Devon [G.B., 1791] on 7 September 1919.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Devon in 1938.1 He gained the rank of Honrary Colonel in 1939 in the Devonshire Regiment (Territorial Army.)1
