     He was educated at Oundle School, Oundle, Northamptonshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He was Lieutenant-Colonel of the 23rd Parachute LAA and Anti-Tank Regiment, Royal Artillery, Ceylon and India between 1942 and 1945.1 He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)1 He was director and general manager of Shelton Iron, Steel and Company between 1950 and 1964.1
