     Rear-Admiral Charles Webley Hope was born on 21 April 1829.1 He was the son of Rear-Admiral Charles Hope and Anne Webley-Parry.2 He married Ellen Evelyn Elizabeth Jordan, daughter of G. B. J. Jordan and Ellen Owen, on 23 April 1861.1 He died on 13 February 1880 at age 50.1
     He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to HM Queen Victoria.1
