Sir Philip Edward Pilditch, 1st Bt.1 
He was educated at Cheverley Hall School, Mannamead, Plymouth, Devon, England.2 He was educated at King’s College School, Wimbledon, London, EnglandG.2 He gained the rank of Captain in the 1st Sussex Volunteer Artillery.2 He was founder of Pilditch, Chadwick and Company, architects.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County London.2 He held the office of member of the London County Council (L.C.C.) between 1907 and 1919.2 He held the office of Vice-Chairman of the London County Council (L.C.C.) between 1913 and 1914.2 He was founder and honorary treasurer of the Battalion Funds for London, Middlesex and Surrey Battalions of the New Army during the First World War.2 He was appointed Knight Bachelor in 1918.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Unionist) for Spelthorne between 1918 and 1931.2 He wrote the book Retrenchment.2 He wrote the book The Eighties and To-day.2 He wrote the book Elizabethan Plymouth.2 He wrote the book Hadrian’s Wall.2 He was created 1st Baronet Pilditch, of Bartropps, Weybridge, co. Surrey [U.K.] on 28 June 1929.2
