     Walter Scott was born on 6 January 1682.1 He was the son of Walter Scott, Earl of Tarras and Helen Hepburn.2 He married by contract, firstly, Agnes Nisbet, daughter of John Nisbet, on 7 April 1709.1 He married, secondly, Agnes Scott, daughter of William Scott, 2nd of Thirlestane and Christian Don, on 10 July 1710.3 He married by contract, thirdly, Ann Scott, daughter of John Scott, on 13 February 1724.1 He married by contract, fourthly, Christian Ker, daughter of Henry Ker, on 5 October 1736.1 He died in January 1746.1
     They also had other issue.1 He lived at Harden.1

     Sir Gideon Scott of Highchester was the son of Sir William Scott of Harden and Agnes Murray.1 A contract for the marriage of Sir Gideon Scott of Highchester and Margaret Hamilton was signed on 26 January 1643.2 He died after 5 August 1673.1
     They also had other issue.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Roxburghshire in 1650.2 He held the office of Sheriff Principal in 1657.2 He was appointed Knight Bachelor in 1660.2 He lived at Highchester, Roxburghshire, Scotland.2
