Sir John Lawson, 1st Bt.1 
He gained the rank of Captain of Horse.1 In 1653 Brough hall was sold under Act of Parliament, and he was subject to banishment.1 He was created 1st Baronet Lawson, of Brough Hall, co. Yorks [England] on 6 July 1665.1
