Sir John Lawson, 5th Bt. was born on 13 September 1744.1 He was the son of Sir Henry Lawson, 4th Bt. and Anastasia Maire.1 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Scarisbrick, daughter of William Scarisbrick.1 He married, secondly, Monica Stapleton, daughter of Miles Stapleton, on 8 February 1803.1 He died on 27 June 1811 at age 66, without surviving male issue.1
He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Lawson, of Brough Hall, co. Yorks [E., 1665] on 1 October 1781.1

Sir John Lawson, 1st Bt. was the son of Henry Lawson and Anne Hodgson.1 He married Catherine Howard, daughter of Sir William Howard and Mary Eure, in 1660.1 He died on 26 October 1698.1
