     Col. Rt. Hon. Edward Henry Cooper was born on 9 July 1827.¹ He was the son of Richard Wordsworth Cooper and Hon. Emilia Elinor de Montmorency.² He married Charlotte Maria Mills, daughter of Edward Wheler Mills and Frances Ann Wingfield, in August 1858.¹ He died on 26 February 1902 at age 74.¹
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Sligo between 1865 and 1868.¹ He gained the rank of Colonel in the Grenadier Guards.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Sligo.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Sligo.¹ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.)¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of County Sligo in 1871.¹ He lived at Markree Castle, Collooney, County Sligo, Ireland^G.¹

     Colonel Joshua Harry Cooper was born in 1831.¹ He was the son of Richard Wordsworth Cooper and Hon. Emilia Elinor de Montmorency.² He married Helen Malet Hayden, daughter of Captain Thomas Hayden and Avice Lodge, in June 1857.¹ He died on 19 July 1901.¹
     He gained the rank of Colonel in the 7th Fusiliers.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Westmeath.¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of County Westmeath in 1875.¹ He lived at Dunboden, County Westmeath, Ireland^G.¹

     Captain Thomas Hayden was born in 1798 at Ireland.² He married Avice Lodge.² He died in 1863.²
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.¹

     Helen Malet Hayden was baptised on 19 December 1838 at Hull, Yorkshire, England.² She was the daughter of Captain Thomas Hayden and Avice Lodge.^3,2 She married Colonel Joshua Harry Cooper, son of Richard Wordsworth Cooper and Hon. Emilia Elinor de Montmorency, in June 1857.¹
     From June 1857, her married name became Cooper.

     Maj.-Gen. Edward Joshua Cooper was born on 21 April 1858.¹ He was the son of Colonel Joshua Harry Cooper and Helen Malet Hayden.² He married Effie Balmain, daughter of James Forrest Balmain, in 1894.¹ He died on 8 March 1945 at age 86, without issue.¹
     He was educated at Marlborough College, Marlborough, Wiltshire, England^G.¹ He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1902.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1900.¹ He fought in the Tibetan Campaign in 1904, where he was mentioned in despatches.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1904.¹ He was appointed Member, Royal Victorian Order (M.V.O.) in 1906.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Westmeath.¹ He was commander of the troops in North China between 1910 and 1914.¹ He fought in the First World War.¹ He lived at Dunboden, County Westmeath, Ireland^G.¹ He gained the rank of Major-General in 1918 in the Royal Fusiliers.¹ He lived at The Abbey, Abingdon, Oxfordshire, England^G.¹

     James Forrest Balmain lived at Dalvreck, Perthshire, Scotland^G.¹

     Effie Balmain is the daughter of James Forrest Balmain.² She married Maj.-Gen. Edward Joshua Cooper, son of Colonel Joshua Harry Cooper and Helen Malet Hayden, in 1894.¹
     From 1894, her married name became Cooper.

     Richard Wordsworth Cooper was born in 1860.¹ He was the son of Colonel Joshua Harry Cooper and Helen Malet Hayden.²

     Myles Henry Cooper was born in 1862.¹ He was the son of Colonel Joshua Harry Cooper and Helen Malet Hayden.² He died in 1888, killed in action, unmarried.¹
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Navy.¹

     Constance Emily Cooper is the daughter of Colonel Joshua Harry Cooper and Helen Malet Hayden.² She married W. Jackson in 1881.¹
     From 1881, her married name became Jackson.
