     Alice Wilhelmina Mary Hay-Newton was the daughter of John Stuart Hay-Newton and Margaret Eliza Fairlie.^1,2 She married Frederick William Brown Gustave Fergusson, son of Sir James Fergusson of Kilkerran, 4th Bt. and Hon. Henrietta Duncan, on 17 October 1871.² She died in 1896, without issue.²
     From 17 October 1871, her married name became Fergusson.

     Frederick William Brown Gustave Fergusson was born on 30 March 1826.¹ He was the son of Sir James Fergusson of Kilkerran, 4th Bt. and Hon. Henrietta Duncan.² He married Alice Wilhelmina Mary Hay-Newton, daughter of John Stuart Hay-Newton and Margaret Eliza Fairlie, on 17 October 1871.¹ He died on 20 July 1903 at age 77, without issue.¹
     He gained the rank of Major in the Ayrshire Militia.¹

     Ernestine Hay-Newton was the daughter of John Stuart Hay-Newton and Margaret Eliza Fairlie.¹ She married Evan Allen Hunter on 15 June 1871.¹ She died on 16 December 1874, without issue.¹
     Her married name became Hunter.

     Evan Allen Hunter married Ernestine Hay-Newton, daughter of John Stuart Hay-Newton and Margaret Eliza Fairlie, on 15 June 1871.¹

     Ida Mary Hay-Newton was the daughter of John Stuart Hay-Newton and Margaret Eliza Fairlie.¹ She married Thomas Colcott Fox on 1 January 1891.¹ She died on 13 November 1930.¹
     Her married name became Fox.

     Thomas Colcott Fox married Ida Mary Hay-Newton, daughter of John Stuart Hay-Newton and Margaret Eliza Fairlie, on 1 January 1891.¹ He died in 1916.¹
     He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine (M.B.)¹ He was appointed Fellow, Royal College of Physicians, London (F.R.C.P.)¹

     Maj.-Gen. Lord Charles Hay was born after 1688. He was the son of Charles Hay, 3rd Marquess of Tweeddale and Lady Susanna Hamilton.¹ He died on 1 May 1760, unmarried.¹
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Haddington in 1741.¹ He fought in the Battle of Fontenoy on 30 April 1745, where he led the English Guards.¹ He lived at Linplum, Scotland^G.¹

     George Hay, 6th Marquess of Tweedale was born circa 1700.¹ He was the son of Charles Hay, 3rd Marquess of Tweeddale and Lady Susanna Hamilton.¹ He died on 16 November 1787, unmarried.¹
     He was one of the Gentlemen Board of Police between 1755 and 1771.¹ He succeeded as the 14th Lord Hay of Yester [S., 1488] on 4 October 1770.¹ He succeeded as the 7th Earl of Tweeddale [S., 1646] on 4 October 1770.¹ He succeeded as the 6th Marquess of Tweeddale [S., 1694] on 4 October 1770.¹ He succeeded as the 6th Earl of Gifford [S., 1694] on 4 October 1770.¹ He succeeded as the 6th Viscount of Walden [S., 1694] on 4 October 1770.¹

     George Hay, 5th Marquess of Tweeddale was born on 12 July 1758.¹ He was the son of John Hay, 4th Marquess of Tweedale and Lady Frances Carteret.¹ He died on 4 October 1770 at age 12.¹
     He succeeded as the 6th Earl of Tweeddale [S., 1646] on 9 December 1762.¹ He succeeded as the 13th Lord Hay of Yester [S., 1488] on 9 December 1762.¹ He succeeded as the 5th Marquess of Tweeddale [S., 1694] on 9 December 1762.¹ He succeeded as the 5th Earl of Gifford [S., 1694] on 9 December 1762.¹ He succeeded as the 5th Viscount of Walden [S., 1694] on 9 December 1762.¹

     James Gordon Hay was born on 15 October 1815.¹ He was the son of General Lord James Hay and Elizabeth Forbes.¹ He married Mary Catherine Cox, daughter of Henry Hill Cox, on 13 November 1878.¹ He died on 8 February 1883 at age 67.¹
     He was a practising barrister.¹ He lived at Mapis Hill House, London, England^G.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹ He lived at Seaton, Aberdeenshire, Scotland^G.¹
