     He fought in the Second World War.¹ He gained the rank of Flying Officer in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.¹

     Winifred Alice Cobbe was born on 11 July 1912.¹ She is the daughter of General Sir Alexander Stanhope Cobbe, V.C. and Winifred Ada Bowen.²
     She lived in 1976 at Kingsgate Farm, Wittersham, Kent, England^G.¹

     Dr. Anne Philippa Cobbe was born on 7 August 1920.¹ She was the daughter of General Sir Alexander Stanhope Cobbe, V.C. and Winifred Ada Bowen.² She died on 15 December 1971 at age 51, unmarried.¹
     She graduated from Somerville College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, in 1946 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ She graduated from Somerville College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, in 1952 with a Doctor of Philosophy (D.Phil.)¹ She was a Maths Lecturer at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G.¹

     Captain Mervyn Hugh Cobbe was born on 7 April 1873.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Gen. Sir Alexander Hugh Cobbe and Emily Barbara Jones.² He married Caroline Anne Maude Arbuthnot, daughter of General Sir Charles George Arbuthnot and Caroline Charlotte Clarke, on 12 October 1904.¹ He died on 27 May 1915 at age 42, killed in action at sea in H.M.S. Irene.¹
     He was educated at H.M.S. Britannia, England^G.¹ He lived at Swaraton, Fleet, Hampshire, England^G.¹ He fought in the First World War.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.¹

     General Sir Charles George Arbuthnot was born on 19 May 1824 at Killaloe, County Clare, Ireland^G.² He was the son of Rt. Rev. Alexander Arbuthnot.² He married Caroline Charlotte Clarke, daughter of William Clarke, on 27 October 1868.² He died on 14 April 1899 at age 74.²
     He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, England^G.² He was commissioned on 18 June 1843 with the rank of 2nd Lieutenant, in the service of the Royal Artillery.² He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, Kent, England^G.² He fought in the Crimean War, where he was severely wounded.² He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)² He fought in the Afghan War.² He was Commander-in-Chief of the Madras Army in 1886.² He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)¹ He was Colonel Commandant of the Royal Artillery in 1893.² He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.) in 1894.²

     Caroline Anne Maude Arbuthnot was the daughter of General Sir Charles George Arbuthnot and Caroline Charlotte Clarke.^2,3 She married Captain Mervyn Hugh Cobbe, son of Lt.-Gen. Sir Alexander Hugh Cobbe and Emily Barbara Jones, on 12 October 1904.¹ She died on 31 August 1945.¹
     From 12 October 1904, her married name became Cobbe.

     Lt.-Cdr. Charles Hugh Cobbe was born on 15 January 1907.¹ He was the son of Captain Mervyn Hugh Cobbe and Caroline Anne Maude Arbuthnot.² He married Enid Margaret Wilson, daughter of Reginald Thorp Wilson, on 28 December 1939.¹ He died on 10 December 1941 at age 34, killed in action in H.M.S. Repulse.¹
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the Royal Navy.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹

     Reginald Thorp Wilson lived at Waldershaigh, Yorkshire, England^G.¹

     Enid Margaret Wilson was the daughter of Reginald Thorp Wilson.² She married, firstly, Lt.-Cdr. Charles Hugh Cobbe, son of Captain Mervyn Hugh Cobbe and Caroline Anne Maude Arbuthnot, on 28 December 1939.¹ She married, secondly, Charles John Quiney, son of Charles James Quiney, on 16 September 1957.¹
     From 28 December 1939, her married name became Cobbe. From 16 September 1957, her married name became Quiney.¹

     Barbara Anne Cobbe was born on 29 August 1905.¹ She is the daughter of Captain Mervyn Hugh Cobbe and Caroline Anne Maude Arbuthnot.² She married Cdr. Rev. Edward Raynold Wilson, son of Rev. Canon Rowland Alwyn Wilson, on 25 April 1931.¹
     From 25 April 1931, her married name became Wilson.
