     Lt.-Col. John Malcolm Thorpe Fleming Churchill was born on 16 September 1906 at Surrey, England.² He was the son of Alex Churchill.² He married Rosamund Margaret Denny, daughter of Sir Maurice Edward Denny, 2nd Bt. and Marjorie Lysaght, on 8 March 1941.¹ He died in 1996.¹
     He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Seaforth Highlanders.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)¹
