     He graduated from Glasgow University, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland^G, with a Doctor of Law (LL.D.)¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Dunbartonshire.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Dunbartonshire.¹ He lived at Helenslee, Dumbarton, Scotland^G.¹

     Helen Leslie was the daughter of James Leslie.² She married Peter Denny, son of William Denny and Christian McIntyre, on 26 January 1846.¹ She died on 5 March 1905.¹
     From 26 January 1846, her married name became Denny.

     Sir Archibald Denny, 1st Bt. was born on 7 February 1860.¹ He was the son of Peter Denny and Helen Leslie.² He married Margaret Tulloch, daughter of John Tulloch, in 1885.¹ He died on 29 May 1936 at age 76.¹
     He was a director of William Denny & Brothers, shipbuilders and engineerrs (builders of the Cutty Sark.)¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 1st Volunteer Battalion, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.¹ He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.) by Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G.¹ He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.) by Glasgow University, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland^G.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 1st Dunbartonshire Rifle Volunteers.¹ He was created 1st Baronet Denny [U.K.] on 16 June 1913.¹

     John Tulloch was an engineer.¹ He lived at Dumbarton, Scotland^G.¹

     Margaret Tulloch was the daughter of John Tulloch.² She married Sir Archibald Denny, 1st Bt., son of Peter Denny and Helen Leslie, in 1885.¹ She died on 16 February 1951.¹

     Sir Maurice Edward Denny, 2nd Bt. was born on 11 February 1886.¹ He was the son of Sir Archibald Denny, 1st Bt. and Margaret Tulloch.² He married Marjorie Lysaght, daughter of William Royse Lysaght, on 23 November 1916.¹ He died on 2 February 1955 at age 68.¹
     He graduated with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)¹ He was Chairman of the Air Registration Board between 1935 and 1936.¹ He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Denny [U.K., 1913] on 29 May 1936.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the British Empire (K.B.E.) in 1946.¹ He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.) in 1949.¹ He was president of William Denny & Brothers (liquidated in 1963.)¹
