     He gained the rank of Commander in the Royal Navy.¹ He lived in 1976 at West Drummvie, Wick, Caithness, Scotland^G.¹

     Constance Rosemary Townsend was born on 23 July 1916.¹ She is the daughter of Admiral Cyril Samuel Townsend and Mary Elizabeth Moseley.² She married William A. Freeman on 12 January 1946.¹
     From 12 January 1946, her married name became Freeman. She lived in 1976 at 93 Wentworth Road, Vaucluse, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia^G.¹

     William A. Freeman married Constance Rosemary Townsend, daughter of Admiral Cyril Samuel Townsend and Mary Elizabeth Moseley, on 12 January 1946.¹

     Constance Emma Townsend was born on 5 May 1866.¹ She was the daughter of Vice-Admiral Samuel Philip Townsend and Emma Maria Bridges.² She married Arthur J. Matthews on 22 April 1897.¹ She died on 20 April 1948 at age 81.¹
     From 22 April 1897, her married name became Matthews.¹

     Arthur J. Matthews married Constance Emma Townsend, daughter of Vice-Admiral Samuel Philip Townsend and Emma Maria Bridges, on 22 April 1897.¹ He died on 2 March 1936.¹
     He lived at The Shrubbery, St. Albans, Hertfordshire, England^G.¹ He was a practising Barrister-at-Law.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹ He had one daughter.¹

     Neville Bath Townsend was the son of Richard Edward Townsend and Elizabeth Jane Bath.² He died, young.¹

     Hare Townsend was born in 1839.¹ He was the son of Richard Edward Townsend and Elizabeth Jane Bath.² He died in 1843.¹

     Edward Richard Townsend was born on 6 December 1834.¹ He was the son of Richard Edward Townsend and Elizabeth Jane Bath.² He married Elizabeth Humphreys, daughter of J. Humphreys, on 9 October 1862.¹ He died on 11 April 1897 at age 62.¹
     He graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)¹ He lived at St. Patrick’s Hill, County Cork, Ireland^G.¹

     J. Humphreys lived at Aberdeenshire, Scotland^G.¹

     Elizabeth Humphreys was the daughter of J. Humphreys.² She married Edward Richard Townsend, son of Richard Edward Townsend and Elizabeth Jane Bath, on 9 October 1862.¹ She died on 10 November 1919.¹
     From 9 October 1862, her married name became Townsend.
