Charles Stewart, 5th Earl of Traquair 
He was educated at Paris, France.1 In 1739 co-founder of the Scottish Jacobite Association, but despite preparing for the 1745 Uprising he did not participate in it.1 He succeeded as the 5th Earl of Traquair [S., 1633] on 13 June 1741.1 He succeeded as the 5th Lord Linton and Caberston [S., 1633] on 13 June 1741.1 Between August 1746 and February 1748 he was held in the Tower of London on suspicion of complicity in the Uprising, after which he was set free, having not been brought to trial, on bail of £30,000.1
