     Richard Ernest Minchin was born on 5 March 1831 at Greenhills, County Tipperary, Ireland^G.² He was the son of Reverend William Minchin and Mary Anne Wright.³ He married, firstly, Ellen Rebecca Ocock, daughter of Richard Ocock, on 19 September 1854 at Ballan, Victoria, Australia^G.⁴ He married, secondly, Elison Barbara Christina McGeorge, daughter of Robert McGeorge, on 16 August 1883 at St. Michael Church, Adelaide, South Australia, Australia^G.⁵ He died on 4 January 1893 at age 61 at Mount Barker, South Australia, Australia^G. He was buried at North Road Cemetery, Adelaide, South Australia, Australia^G.
     He emigrated to Australia^G arriving on 1851 on board The Stag.¹ He was a photographer and painter (much of his work illustrates the development of Adelaide.)¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) [South Australia]¹ He was Director of the Adelaide Zoological Gardens in 1878, the first.¹ In 1878 he founded the South Australian Zoological and Acclimatization Society.¹

He was the son of Richard Ernest Minchin and Ellen Rebecca Ocock.² He married Helen Victoria Kildahl in 1879 at Geelong, Victoria, Australia^G. He died on 24 April 1894 at age 38 at Union Street, Unley, Adelaide, South Australia, Australia^G.^3,4
     He was manager of the National Bank.¹ He was an artist.

     Helen Victoria Kildahl was born on 31 August 1855 at Newtown, Geelong, Victoria, Australia^G.² She married Ernest William Minchin, son of Richard Ernest Minchin and Ellen Rebecca Ocock, in 1879 at Geelong, Victoria, Australia^G.      Max Ernest Minchin was born on 26 March 1880 at Kadina, South Australia, Australia^G.² He was the son of Ernest William Minchin and Helen Victoria Kildahl.³ He married Annie Isabel Scott, daughter of William Pordham Scott, on 17 July 1911 at St. Andrews Church, Mannum, South Australia, Australia^G.⁴ He died on 13 October 1956 at age 76.¹
     He was a surveyor.¹ He lived at Bridgetown, South Australia, Australia^G.¹

     Annie Isabel Scott was born circa 1882. She is the daughter of William Pordham Scott.¹ She married Max Ernest Minchin, son of Ernest William Minchin and Helen Victoria Kildahl, on 17 July 1911 at St. Andrews Church, Mannum, South Australia, Australia^G.²
