     Alfred Corker Minchin was born on 24 September 1856 at Ballan, Victoria, Australia^G.² He was the son of Richard Ernest Minchin and Ellen Rebecca Ocock.³ He was also reported to have been born on 24 September 1857.¹ He married Florence Euphemia Scammell, daughter of Luther Scammell, on 9 October 1888 at Scammell residence, Unley, Adelaide, South Australia, Australia^G.⁴ He died on 20 September 1934 at age 77 at Adelaide, South Australia, Australia^G.
     He was educated at North Adelaide Grammar School, Adelaide, South Australia, Australia^G. He was Director of the Adelaide Zoological Gardens, in succession to his father between 1893 and 1934.¹

     Luther Scammell lived at Adelaide, South Australia, Australia^G.¹

     Florence Euphemia Scammell was born circa 1868. She is the daughter of Luther Scammell.¹ She married Alfred Corker Minchin, son of Richard Ernest Minchin and Ellen Rebecca Ocock, on 9 October 1888 at Scammell residence, Unley, Adelaide, South Australia, Australia^G.²
     From 9 October 1888, her married name became Minchin.
