     He was educated at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, England^G.¹ He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He was commissioned in 1966, in the service of the King’s Own Scottish Borderers.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in 1972.¹ He lived in 1976 at Cruxfield House, Duns, Berwickshire, Scotland^G.¹

     Lieutenant Desmond Minchin was the son of Alfred Alyson Fennell Minchin and Kathleen Winifred Molesworth.¹ He died in 1944 at Normandy, France^G, killed in action.¹
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the King’s Own Scottish Borderers.¹ He gained the rank of Second World War.¹

     Lucy Minchin was born circa 1871.¹ She was the daughter of Henry Paul Minchin and Lavinia Fennell.¹ She died on 4 July 1881.¹

     Elsie Lavinia Minchin was born circa 1882 at County Tipperary, Ireland^G.² She was the daughter of Henry Paul Minchin and Lavinia Fennell.¹ She died in 1900.¹

     Norah Otway Minchin was born circa 1880 at County Tipperary, Ireland^G.² She was the daughter of Henry Paul Minchin and Lavinia Fennell.¹ She died, young.¹

     Corker Wright Minchin was born on 5 January 1829.¹ He was the son of Reverend William Minchin and Mary Anne Wright.¹ He married Amy Helen Browne, daughter of Captain Peter Browne, on 18 April 1865.¹ He died on 15 April 1926 at age 97.¹ He was also reported to have died on 5 April 1926 at Shamrock Lodge, Beaufort, Victoria, Australia^G.
     He was Clerk of the Courts between 1857 and 1916 at Beaufort, Victoria, Australia^G.¹

     Amy Helen Browne was born circa 1844. She was the daughter of Captain Peter Browne.¹ She married Corker Wright Minchin, son of Reverend William Minchin and Mary Anne Wright, on 18 April 1865.¹ She died on 4 January 1879 at Beaufort, Victoria, Australia^G.²
     From 18 April 1865, her married name became Minchin.¹

     Captain Peter Browne gained the rank of Captain in the 3rd Buffs.¹

     William Peter Minchin was born on 4 March 1866.¹ He was the son of Corker Wright Minchin and Amy Helen Browne.¹ He married Florence Emily Henniker, daughter of James Henniker, in 1890.¹ He died on 20 July 1930 at age 64.¹
     He lived at Mt. Lawley, Western Australia, Australia^G.¹

     Florence Emily Henniker was the daughter of James Henniker.¹ She married William Peter Minchin, son of Corker Wright Minchin and Amy Helen Browne, in 1890.¹ She died on 3 August 1944.¹
     From 1890, her married name became Minchin.¹
