Audacious and Queen Elizabeth.³ He retired from the military, with the rank of Commander, late of the Royal Navy.³ He was registered as a Chartered Accountant (C.A.) in 1925.³ He was partner of Galbraith, Dunlop & Company at Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.³ He was Member of Glasgow Town Council between 1933 and 1940.³ He was British Deputy Admiralty Supply Representative between 1940 and 1942 at Washington, D.C., U.S.A.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Pollok between 1940 and 1955.¹ He held the office of Joint Parliamentary Under-Secretary, Scotland between May 1945 and July 1945.¹ He held the office of Joint Parliamentary Under-Secretary, Scotland between 1951 and 1955.¹ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1953.³ He held the office of Minister of State, Scottish Office between 1955 and 1958.¹ He was created 1st Baron Strathclyde, of Barskimming, Mauchline, Ayrshire [U.K.] on 4 May 1955.⁴ He was chairman of North of Scotland Hyrdo-Electric Board between 1959 and 1967.¹

     Ida Jane Galloway was the daughter of Thomas Galloway.² She married Thomas Dunlop Galbraith, 1st Baron Strathclyde, son of William Brodie Galbraith and Anne Jack Dunlop, on 2 December 1915.² She died in 1985.¹
     From 2 December 1915, her married name became Galbraith.¹ After her marriage, Ida Jane Galloway was styled as Baroness Strathclyde on 4 May 1955.

     Hon. Sir Thomas Galloway Dunlop Galbraith was born on 10 March 1917.¹ He was the son of Thomas Dunlop Galbraith, 1st Baron Strathclyde and Ida Jane Galloway.¹ He married Simone Clotilde Fernande Marie Ghislaine du Roy de Blicquy, daughter of Jean du Roy de Blicquy, on 11 April 1956.¹ He and Simone Clotilde Fernande Marie Ghislaine du Roy de Blicquy were divorced in 1974.¹ He died on 2 January 1982 at age 64.¹

     Rt. Hon. Hugh Todd Naylor Gaitskell was born on 9 April 1906 at Kensington, London, England^G.³ He was the son of Arthur Gaitskell and Adelaide Mary Jamieson.³ He married Anna Dora Creditor, Baroness Gaitskell, daughter of Leon Creditor and Tessa Jaffé, in 1937 at Hampstead, London, England^G.¹ He died on 18 January 1963 at age 56 at London, England^G.¹
     He was educated between 1912 and 1919 at Dragon School, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G.³ He was educated between 1919 and 1924 at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, England^G.³ He was educated between 1924 and 1927 at New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G.³ He was head of the Department of Plitical Economy at University College London, London, England^G.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Leeds South between 1945 and 1963.³ He held the office of Minister of Fuel and Power between 1947 and 1950.³ He held the office of Chancellor of the Exchequer between 1950 and 1951.³ He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.)¹ He held the office of Leader of the Labour Party between 1955 and 1963.⁴

     Howard Robard Hughes was born on 9 September 1869 at Lancaster, Missouri, U.S.A.^G.¹ He was the son of Felix Turner Hughes and Jean Amelia Summerlin.¹ He married Allene Stone Gano, daughter of William Beriah Gano and Jeannette de la Fayette Grissim, on 24 May 1904 at Dallas, Texas, U.S.A.^G.¹ He died in January 1924 at age 54, from a heart attack.¹
     He was educated at Keokuk, Iowa, U.S.A.^G.¹ He was educated at Morgan Park Military Academy, Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A.^G.¹ He was educated at Missouri Military Academy, Mexico, Missouri, U.S.A.^G.¹ He was educated in 1893 at Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts, U.S.A.^G.¹ He was educated at University of Iowa, Iowa, U.S.A.^G.¹ In 1909 founder of the Sharp-Hughes Tool Company, based on his patent for the Sharp-Hughes Rock Bit.¹

     Allene Stone Gano was born on 14 July 1883 at Georgetown, Kentucky, U.S.A.^G.¹ She was the daughter of William Beriah Gano and Jeannette de la Fayette Grissim.¹ She married Howard Robard Hughes, son of Felix Turner Hughes and Jean Amelia Summerlin, on 24 May 1904 at Dallas, Texas, U.S.A.^G.¹ She died on 29 March 1922 at age 38, from complications of an actopic pregnancy.¹
     From 24 May 1904, her married name became Hughes.¹

     Ella Botts Rice was born in 1904.¹ She was the daughter of David Rice and Martha Lawson Botts.¹ She married Howard Robard Hughes, Jr., son of Howard Robard Hughes and Allene Stone Gano, on 1 June 1925.¹ She and Howard Robard Hughes, Jr. were divorced in 1929.¹ She died in 1992.¹
     From 1 June 1925, her married name became Hughes.¹

     David Rice married Martha Lawson Botts.¹

     Felix Turner Hughes was born on 10 November 1837 at Millstadt, Illinois, U.S.A.^G.¹ He was the son of Joshua Hughes and Martha Askins.¹ He married Jean Amelia Summerlin, daughter of Thomas Summerlin and Bathsheba Robard, on 1 August 1865 at Memphis, Missouri, U.S.A.^G.¹ He died on 19 October 1926 at age 88 at Los Angeles, California, U.S.A.^G.¹
     He fought in the American Civil War in 1862, in the Missouri Volunteer Forces, Union Army.¹
