William Ponsonby, 1st Viscount Duncannon1 
He matriculated at Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG, on 14 November 1677.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the British Army.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Kilkenny from 1692 to 1693.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Kilkenny between 1695 and 1699.4 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Kilkenny between 1703 and 1721.4 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Ireland] in 1715.4 He was created 1st Baron Bessborough, of Bessborough, co. Kilkenny [Ireland] on 11 September 1721.2 He was created 1st Viscount Duncannon, of the fort of Duncannon, co. Wexford [Ireland] on 28 February 1722/23.2 His last will was dated 11 August 1724.
