     Edwina Cumming was the daughter of Colonel Sir Alexander Penrose Cumming-Gordon of Altyre, 1st Bt. and Helen Grant.² She married Thomas Miller, son of Sir William Miller of Glenlee, 2nd Bt. and Grizel Chalmers, in 1814.¹ She died on 18 March 1857.¹
     From 1814, her married name became Miller.¹

     Frances Vavasour was the daughter of William Vavasour and Elizabeth Beckwith.¹ She married Sir Henry Slingsby, son of Sir Francis Slingsby and Mary Percy.¹ She died between 1609 and 1611.¹
     Her married name became Slingsby.¹

     Major Alexander Penrose Miller was born in 1817.¹ He was the son of Thomas Miller and Edwina Cumming.² He married Julia Monica Shiel, daughter of S. Shiel.¹ He died on 18 September 1880.¹
     He gained the rank of Major in the 92nd Gordon Highlanders.¹

     S. Shiel lived at Ballyshannon, County Donegal, Ireland^G.¹

     Julia Monica Shiel was the daughter of S. Shiel.² She married Major Alexander Penrose Miller, son of Thomas Miller and Edwina Cumming.¹ She died on 9 February 1888.¹
     Her married name became Miller.¹

     Alice Edwina Miller was the daughter of Major Alexander Penrose Miller and Julia Monica Shiel.² She married Colonel Clement Richard Johnson on 16 January 1883.¹ She died on 31 March 1883.¹
     From 16 January 1883, her married name became Johnson.

     Colonel Clement Richard Johnson married Alice Edwina Miller, daughter of Major Alexander Penrose Miller and Julia Monica Shiel, on 16 January 1883.¹ He died on 4 April 1892.¹
     He gained the rank of Colonel in the 50th Queen’s Own Regiment.¹

     Julia Griselda Miller was the daughter of Major Alexander Penrose Miller and Julia Monica Shiel.² She died on 28 June 1895, unmarried.¹

     Martha Maud Mary Miller is the daughter of Major Alexander Penrose Miller and Julia Monica Shiel.² She married Colonel Charles Richard Tierney-Davidson on 28 November 1896.¹
     From 28 November 1896, her married name became Tierney-Davidson.

     Colonel Charles Richard Tierney-Davidson married Martha Maud Mary Miller, daughter of Major Alexander Penrose Miller and Julia Monica Shiel, on 28 November 1896.¹ He died in 1915.¹
     He gained the rank of Colonel in the Royal Engineers.¹
