     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.¹

     Joan Curtis was the daughter of Henry Downing Curtis and Ada Harriett Heath.² She married Francis Norton Gammidge, son of Henry Gammidge, on 16 April 1914.¹ She died in August 1960.¹
