     James Chapman is the son of Reverend Edward William Chapman and Hon. Theodosia Spring Rice.^2,1 He married Dorothy Christian Erskine, daughter of Hon. Augustus William Erskine and Harriet Susannah Forbes, on 27 June 1906.¹

     Major Hon. Charles Herbert Stewart Erskine was born on 11 September 1853.¹ He was the son of Walter Coningsby Erskine, 12th Earl of Kellie and Elise Youngson.² He died on 6 April 1896 at age 42.¹
     He gained the rank of Major in the 3rd Battalion, Princess Louise’s Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders.¹

     Hon. James Augustus Erskine was born on 27 March 1812.¹ He was the son of Hon. Henry David Erskine and Mary Anne Cooksey.² He married, firstly, Fanny Dalacombe, daughter of General Henry Ivatt Dalacombe, on 15 June 1837.¹ He married, secondly, Elizabeth Bogue Brodie, daughter of George Brodie, on 4 November 1852.¹ He died on 24 July 1885 at age 73.¹
     In 1866 he was granted the rank of an earl’s younger son.¹ He was Assistant Commissary General of HM Forces.¹ He was awarded the Knight, Order of St. Ferdinand of Spain.¹

     General Henry Ivatt Dalacombe was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)¹

     Fanny Dalacombe was the daughter of General Henry Ivatt Dalacombe.² She married Hon. James Augustus Erskine, son of Hon. Henry David Erskine and Mary Anne Cooksey, on 15 June 1837.¹ She died on 17 September 1851.¹
     From 15 June 1837, her married name became Erskine.

     Augustus Erskine was born on 15 May 1843.¹ He was the son of Hon. James Augustus Erskine and Fanny Dalacombe.² He married Kathleen Lyons, daughter of Edmund Lyons, on 6 August 1888.¹ He died on 28 January 1918 at age 74.¹
     He gained the rank of officer in the 108th Regiment.¹ He was with the Melbourne Civil Service.¹

     Edmund Lyons lived at North Melbourne, Victoria, Australia^G.¹

     Kathleen Lyons was the daughter of Edmund Lyons.² She married Augustus Erskine, son of Hon. James Augustus Erskine and Fanny Dalacombe, on 6 August 1888.¹ She died on 22 November 1924.¹
     From 6 August 1888, her married name became Erskine.

     Busby Lyons Erskine was born on 21 August 1890.¹ He was the son of Augustus Erskine and Kathleen Lyons.² He married Lilian Blenkey, daughter of Francis William Blenkey, on 31 December 1919.¹ He died in 1962.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain and Honorary Major in the 4th Battalion, Manchester Regiment.¹

     Francis William Blenkey lived at Beckenham, Kent, England^G.¹
