He graduated from Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was admitted to Lincoln’s Inn in 1885 entitled to practise as a barrister.1 He was appointed King’s Counsel (K.C.) in 1897.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Antrim.1 He held the office of Bencher of Lincoln’s Inn in 1904.3 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Macnaghten, of Dundarave, co. Antrim [U.K., 1836] on 17 February 1913.2
