     Rt. Hon. Edward Ellice was born on 27 September 1783 at London, England.2 He was the son of Alexander Ellice and Ann Russell.2 He married, firstly, Lady Hannah Althea Grey, daughter of General Charles Grey, 1st Earl Grey and Elizabeth Grey, on 30 October 1809.1 He married, secondly, Lady Anne Amelia Keppel, daughter of William Charles Keppel, 4th Earl of Albemarle and Hon. Elizabeth Southwell, on 25 October 1843 at St. George’s Hanover Square, London, England.3,4 He died on 17 September 1863 at age 79.2
     He lived at Invergarry, Inverness-shire, ScotlandG.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)3 Rt. Hon. Edward Ellice also went by the nick-name of Bear.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)1 He was director of the Hudson’s Bay Company.2
