Admiral Sir Francis Geary, 1st Bt. was born in 1709. He married Mary Bartholomew, daughter of Philip Bartholomew.1 He died on 7 February 1796.3
He gained the rank of Admiral of the White on 1 January 1778.3 He was Commander of the Channel Fleet in 1780.3 He was created 1st Baronet Geary [Great Britain] in August 1782.
